Textile Designers Resume

Need advice on resume.?
Going crazy. Advice needed. How do I word improve resume to better chances for interviews & job offers? Impeding factors: furniture & textiles were main industries in area but work has gone to China, resulting in huge layoffs. My 30 yr. career in furniture/commercial design is now in low demand w/high competition for existing jobs. Can’t move or return to school – employmt benefits have run out, NO money & assist w/care of elderly dad w/alzheimers. Periods of free-lance design for multiple employers, interspersed w/regular work, is common for designers but confuses employers & agencies who interpret it as career breaks. Last few jobs were exec admin & exec marketing positions, due more to furn. &, design knowledge than marketing knowledge – no skills in web design, graphics, etc. Finally, I was fired from my last job – I rejected the ego-maniac company president’s sexual overtures after which he constantly harrassed me. How to explain without speaking badly of former employer?
simply tell the new employer the goals the previous company had was not in your long term plan.
It sounds professional and if you need to elaborate, then discuss there was also a lack of professionalism, and the way the leadership was run was not something you were willing to put your reputation on the line for. Explain to them your short comings- no surprises. Also explain that you have a diverse background with the experience sought from hard work on your own part, with nothing being given to you. The periods of time not currently employed was during your own research and development stage of yourself, where you were continuing your education in your field, and finding out how it impacted other fields like the one from your recent position.
