Photographic Memory – Is It Really Possible?

Quick. Can you answer the following questions? Where are your wallet and keys right now? What is your dog’s favorite food? What is your PO Box address? What did you eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner 3 weeks ago? What are all your friends Birthdays? If you know the answer to those questions, my friend, you would be considered “highly intelligent” by most folks. Unfortunately, most of us could only answer 1 or 2 of these questions, at most.  Guess that means we’re “dumb” to most people.

Don’t you hate forgetting important events in your life like your significant other’s birthday, or anniversary dates? Maybe you lost out on an amazing work promotion because you just couldn’t remember (for the life of you), the first names of your important clients, their personal interests, or even worse, kept missing important business dates. It sure can put you in an awkward spot, can’t it? You may end up sleeping on the couch at home, or maybe even be fired from work!

The truth is if you have amazing photographic memory, it doesn’t mean you are any smarter than anyone else, if just means that you have mastered the skills needed to “remember” these facts better than most of us. You see, the vast majority of people don’t have a very strong memory at all, so when someone walks in to the room that does, they instantly command attention, and are (even if unjustly) considered FAR smarter than the rest of us.  

It may not seem fair, but if you have a photographic memory (which means you have the knack to remember anything you read too!), you tend to skate through life instead of struggling like the rest of us. Wouldn’t you love to be able to know the answer to the smallest little thing, read a HUGE textbook and remember every tiny detail, or remember any tid-bit of personal info someone gave you? What if you could remember the name, favorite foods, and birthdays of everyone you met…or were able to give a speech without any notes? Wouldn’t that impress everyone in attendance? I know I’d be impressed.
